On 21 November, join Sydney's longest overnight walking challenge and help support UNICEF's work for children affected by emergencies around the world.
Volunteers are at the heart of Dusk to Dawn, helping create a safe, welcoming and memorable experience for every participant.
Whether you're welcoming participants at the start line, supporting them at pit stops throughout the night, guiding them along the course, or celebrating their achievement at the finish line, every volunteer plays an important role in bringing Dusk to Dawn to life.
VOLUNTEER ROLES
🚩Dusk Crew
Welcome participants, assist with check in, distribute bibs and event merchandise, and create a positive, energetic start line atmosphere.
💙Pit Stop Crew
Support walkers with refreshments, encouragement and a friendly face at one of our five pit stops.
🧭Night Guides
Guide participants at key points along the route, helping them stay safely on course and providing encouragement.
🏃♂️➡️Sweep Team
Follow behind the last walkers and assist with collecting course marking. Reasonable fitness levels required.
🌅Dawn Crew
Celebrate participants as they cross the finish line, present medals and help create a memorable finish to their overnight challenge.

How long will my shift be?
Pit Stop Crew will be based at one of the following locations:
- Pitstop 1 Bradfield Park, Milson's Point
- Pitstop 2: Ruschutters Bay
- Pitstop 3: Lyne Park, Rose Bay
- Pitstop 4: Robertson Park, Watsons Bay
- Pitstop 5: Dudley Page Reserve, Dover Heights
Night Guides will be stationed at key points along the course throughout North Sydney, CBD and Eastern Suburbs. Details of your assigned location will be provided after you sign up.
Sweep Team will sweep approx. 10-15km sections of the course across sections of North Sydney, CBD and Eastern Suburbs.

What if the role I have signed up for is unavailable?
Can I choose my shift?
Yes once you have registered you will be able to view all available shifts and select what you'd like to sign up for. From September onwards, shifts will be reviewed and allocated and you will recieve cofirmation.
I can no longer volunteer, how do I cancel?
