Course Map 🌙

Take on a 42 km overnight walk from St Leonards Park in North Sydney to Bondi Pavilion, crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge and experiencing Sydney after dark before finishing at sunrise. Explore the interactive course map below to see the route.

The course shown is indicative and subject to change. The final route and checkpoint locations will be confirmed closer to event day and shared with registered participants.

Pit Stop Locations & Cut Off Times

There will be Pit Stops along the Dusk to Dawn course where you can take a break and refuel. Light snacks, including fruit and cereal bars, as well as water and juice, will be available at each Pit Stop. Portaloo toilets will also be available.

Each Pit Stop has a cut-off time, so it’s important to keep these timings in mind as you make your way along the course.

Please note that additional course cut-offs and traffic detours may be implemented throughout the event by the Course Management team as required. These measures will help ensure the safe and efficient management of the course and allow all scheduled course cut-off times to be maintained.

What to Expect on the Course

The Dusk to Dawn course has been designed to showcase some of Sydney's most iconic harbour and coastal scenery.

Along the way you can expect:

  • Urban footpaths and shared pathways throughout most of the course.
  • Boardwalk sections along parts of the harbour foreshore.
  • A mix of flat and gently undulating terrain, with the most challenging hills in the final third of the walk.
  • Changing lighting conditions, from well-lit city streets to quieter foreshore paths where your head torch will be essential.

Preparing for the Course

While the course is achievable with training, participants should prepare for:

  • Walking overnight for up to 42 km.
  • Varying terrain, including hills and boardwalks.
  • Cooler overnight temperatures.
  • Walking in low-light conditions using a head torch.

To help you prepare, we've created a 12-week Training Guide with a progressive training plan, cross-training and recovery tips, nutrition advice, and practical guidance to help you feel confident on event night.
